Hi ! First post. I have the SUV jacked up and blocked. I have an LED headlamp ( BRIGHT!!) and yet I STILL cannot find the purge valve solenoid. I have one in hand (new) so I know what it looks like at least. I will go back under and try to follow the fuel lines from back to front.
Some background is. I inherited this truck from my daughter after saving it from the Repo Man for her. We had the transmission rebuilt for her. The trade in was much less then we had spent so she gave it to us when she left for Texas.
I am an OK 'wrench' but ignorant about emissions systems. I know I have to get a test code reader to see what codes pop up. ( Service engine soon light is now on)
Enough raw fuel vapor in the passenger compartment to make the evening news someday. I have repeatedly checked for raw fuel leaks and can't find any stains or wetness. It is vapor piling into the cab even with the windows open and coming from where???
Right now I have a fire extinguisher in the cup holder bracket but I am toying with NOT using it should something ignite.
This is my newest vehicle EVER. Many hundred dollar 'wonders' have come and gone but this vehicle borders on the diabolical. I'm not Grumpy but I am incredulous about this rolling mechanical 'puzzel'. Please help or send me some 'chuckles' as I have a great sense of humor. Thanks. Larry
