BIGAPPLE... A body lift+TT/shackles will cost about about 400 tops. A suspension will be 1800. That's a big difference. And I thought with a tt you do get a little more ground clearance.
Hello, I know more about the sport tracs than I do the 3rd gen ex. I just got rid of my 2001 sport trac and miss it like crazy. I did to mine everything that you are talking about doing to yours. First of all you can fit 265/75/16 without any lift. The first thing I did to mine was buy full size Chevy keyways for the torsion bars, that will lift it a little in the front without even twisting them. And if you do twist you can get more height that your stock keyways. I bought 10 dollar shackle extensions for the rear. I got a good 2 inch lift for less than 100 dollars. After that I wanted the 285/75/16's so I bought a 3 inch body lift. I paid to have it installed, I spent around 500 bucks total. Well worth it. Fit the 285's easy. I also bought longer shocks for the front as they maxed out from the torsion twist. I'll try to dig out an old picture soon....
