I have a 2002 ford explorer. On cold days ONLY when I accelerate and whistle sound starts to develop. As i let off the gas the whistle starts to decrease then goes away. It doesnt happen all the time. Usually only in temperatures under 40 degrees. I took it to ford and they said it was the Idle air control valve. They replaced it with a new one but i noticed there is no gasket between the valve and intake. Is there suppose to be one? Seemed to make it better but the sound is still there sometimes. It comes and goes. No check engine lights. Only occurs during accleration.
