2002 Limited Explorer 4 wheel drive prob???

Hi All.

I have a 2002 limited v8.

Recently, my 4 wheel drive will not engage when I press the 4x4 high button. The low will also not engage.

Also, I have noticed that it seems only the back 2 wheels are moving by themselves..the front wheels are not engaging..making the "all-wheel-drive".

When I press the 4x4 high button..the LED on the dash will not come on.

I am really hoping one of you will say "try checking the fuses".......

How serious is this??? Costwise, etc....

do a search as this has happened to many.. it is the 4x4 module i believe behing the glove box..
if i recall correctly...
never had htat problem on my 2002,, i engage it about once a week while driving just to engage it...

only good for 3 years or 36000 miles. might be past both of them if initially made in late 2001 or early 2002. like mine was. my 2002 doesnt matter as i just hit 109000.
