- 2002 Mazda B3000
Would just like to say Hello to everyone onboard and hope that I may get some answers to a problem that I have come across..
I have a 2002 Mazda B-3000 manual transmission 4x4 and a 2001 Ford Ranger 4.0 with auto tranny 4x4..
I`m not a professional mechanic but have worked on my own vehicles for over 30 years and have figured out most of my problems and done fairly well by myself.. But now I have have crossed a path when I need and hope that someone can help me before I end up at a Dealership and being bent over in a bad way and ending up not getting anything in return except a large bill to pay!!!
I`ve never had a problem with the Ranger but the Mazda in giving me problems with the 4 wheel drive engaging.. Sometimes I can hit the dash switich on the 1st try and it will go into high, then I can push in the clutch, throw it in neutral and it will go into low 4 wheel drive.. And the same goes for taking it out of 4 wheel drive..
Other times it might take me 20 shots before it will go into high and may not go into low at all.. Then it might go into low but take 10 or trys to get it back out again..
I took the dash switich out of the Ranger and stuck it in the Mazda but nothing changed..I put the Mazda switich in the Ranger and everything works fine, so the switich is not the problem..
Can some please tell me what my next step might be in order to get my 4 wheel drive working the way that it should ? Thanks for any advice...
