The driver's power seat and foot pedals stopped working all of the sudden one day. I've checked many fuses/relays and couldn't find one that was blown. Finally took it into a dealership and they told me I needed a new seat track-for $1200. Thinking they were crazy I looked at the seat again and started to mess with the wiring harnesses connected under the seat. Jiggling them one at a time I was able to get the seat and pedals to move again. I found that it was the green wiring harness that was the culprit. (There are many harnesses; Gray, Green, Yellow, White, and I think a couple black) I think the problem was caused by having the seat all the way back for a long time and that crimped the wires. Has anyone else ran into this? And if so, what is the best "fix"? Unplug the harness and re-wire? I'm assuming it's the male end harness coming from the vehicle and NOT the female end harness coming from the seat, but I really don't know. Advice?

if you have it narrowed down to one wire just remove the harness and repair that wire.

if you dont have it narrowed down then remove the harness and check the resistance of all the wires....if ones open or has really high resistance then thats your problem wire

As of right now I don't have it narrowed down to one wire, so I'll test them all. The problem is, when I slightly move the group of wires (that all lead into the harness) it will re-establish the connection and the seat will work again. So disconnecting the harness and testing each wire will be a little tricky depending on how I'm "holding" the wires/harness. I'll have to test each connection while jiggling the wires/harness to see if there is a fluctuation in resistance. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm short on time in the next couple days, so if you care check back in about a week as I'll post what I find by then. Thanks.

You also mentioned the foot pedals in your original post, but didn't follow up on them. Is there a problem with your Limited's ajustable pedals working also?

The foot pedals work when the power seat works....although don't ask me why their power comes from the harness under the seat. I only know this through experience and not because I've seen the wiring diagram. When I can get the wiring harness situated correctly and the power seat works, so do the foot pedals. And when the power seat stops working, the foot pedals stop working as well. I've found that when I move the seat all the way back, both the seat and the pedals stop working. (Like I stated originally, I think it's because the wires get pulled down because the grouping of wires comes from the floorboard under the seat, and the seat in the rear-most position forces the wires to be fully extended.) So I get under the seat, and jiggle the wiring harness while pressing forward on the power seat control and when it begins to work, so do the pedals. (I've taken a picture of the harness, but don't know where to upload the picture to. The "Insert Image" forces me to enter a URL-website. This pic is on my desktop. Help?)

pic require elite membership. Sounds like its related to the Seat Memory, which also adjusts the pedals. I forgot where the module is. . .loose connector which is shorting out?
