- 2002 Sport Trac
Hi. Newbie at the Forum. I've worked on plenty of cars before, but never an Explorer.
I made the naive mistake of offering to do a front brake job on by sister-in-law's 2002 Sport Trac 4x2. I have owned a series of front wheel drive sedans and know that front brake on those are really easy. Little did I know what I was in for on her truck.
So I've gotten it all apart and remove the disc and hub. I want to replace the disc as it is worn out. It seems that the huh and disc are a single piece, although the service manual shows the disc without the hub at the beginning of the article. Yet, the exploded view, which shows every little piece, only shows the disc an hub assembly as a single unit.
The new disc I have does not include a hub. I've looked and even tried to find a disc and hub assembly as a single unit, but there are none.
So...how do i get the hub to separate from the old disc?
Any help is always appreciated.
