We have a 2002 Explorer that, when placed in park on an incline (intermittently) will not start and won't be moved out of park. It has also happened on flat surface but only a couple times. We have pushed it to get loose and it works sometimes. Last time we followed the manual and it would not get it loose. Problem is growing more frequent.
This vehicle used in remote high SW AZ desert search and rescue and we do not want to be the ones needing rescue. Need to know what to look for and how to fix...permanently.
Will accept emails @ mkcasey2@gmail.com only if subject line says "fix 2002 park lock problem". Thanks in advance
