Ok, I bought this SUV used with about 27K miles. Now since I’ve owned it, there are allot of times strong vibrations stem from the brake peddle, obviously, when braking. This doesn’t occur all the time, but it happens enough to draw some concern. The feeling is like the ABS is pumping the brakes a bit to dramatically, and at the worst times, I can be "oscillating" in the car with the motion of the peddle(if that makes any sense).

Can anyone offer any advice?

Thanks

Ususally if the pedal is "vibrating" or "pulsateing" you usually have warped rotors. I havnt done this on my explorer yet, but Ive replaced rotors on other cars and consider them pretty easy to do. And Rotors arent that expensive usually like 30 or 40 bucks a peice

On my '02 the front rotors/pad job was easy. The rears weren't that hard but a bit more difficult (getting the rotors off) because of the e-brake.

I'd agree that it sounds like warped rotors...
