The A/C compressor clutch on our '02 XLT recently siezed. I replaced the compressor with the bypass pulley frm Motormite. After a day the front edge of the belt frayed. I realized the bypass pulley was not aligned and corrected the problem. I replaced the belt with a Gatorback belt #4060858. Everything was fine for four or five days and then the front edge of the belt frayed. All of the pulleys appear to be in alignment, there are no sueaks or squeals and I can find no problems with the tensioner. Has anyone else heard of such a problem with this type of belt? Do you think it is the belt or do I have a not so obvious alignment problem? Thanks for any suggestions you may have.
