I have a 2003 Explorer Eddie Bauer with the 6 disc changer built in... I'd like to add an aux audio input for an external MP3 player, but I've read conflicting reports as to whether that particular unit will accept the various modules (PIE, Blitzsafe, etc). Can anyone confirm or deny? I haven't pulled the unit out to look at the connectors but don't want to waste my time if it can't be done.

Thanks!

I installed a fm modulator, it hooks up thru the antenna input, Its an audiovox, with an on/off switch and a two station selection switch. works fairly well with my pocket pc.... and only cost $45...

The is no aux input on that HU. I have the same one and when I installed my DVD player I had to put in a modulator also. Not the best quality sound, but not bad either. You get what you pay for with FM modulators though, the cheaper the price, the cheaper the quality, mine was 90 bucks.

Do the plug-into-the-antenna-jack FM modulators like the Audiovox work well in big-city (crowded frequency) areas?

I live in L.A. ... so the dial is pretty crowded. Having to change frequencies all over the place would make it not worthwhile for me, I'd rather just get a new HU.

Any advice?
