I just put our rear knuckles back in where wheel bearings were pressed in and took it for test drive. Yay no more roaring. So we turned around to come back home and suddenly the engine started running really bad, and losing power. We pulled over on the side of the road as it sputtered and shut off. It did restart but won't run well enough to move under power. So it's parked about 1/2 mile from my house. I am thinking of getting a tow strap and trying to tow it home to get it off side of road. First of all do we have a good tow point on front end of Explorer to connect to? I don't have it in front of me to check otherwise I would.

I recently replaced the intake manifold and just happened to have the OBD still connected to Explorer. I just opened the Torque app and there are several current faults in the log. None of them have details when you click on them and it says unknown error. But here are the error codes -

B2ERR - Body
B2TAE - Body
DAT
POD<D - Powertrain
POEC6 - Powertrain
ROR

Any idea what these mean?

There is no tow eye or tow hook on front end of a 2003 Ford Explorer. I just crawled around under there on side of road and no such luck. So my tow strap idea is a no go. I hate to have a tow truck guy pick it up and tow only about 500-600 yards to front not entrance of my neighborhood which is where I have moved it to now.

If you have a tow hitch on it, pull it backwards. I had the transmission go out on my aerostar van and the only recovery point is the hitch.

I tried cranking again and had misfire CEL codes. It showed cylinders 6,7,8. So I rushed to Advance Auto website before my store closed and bought 3 coil over plugs to pickup using the 30% off code and installed them on side of the road. I fired up and idled great. Until we started driving it towards home and then it ran really rough but limped home. I cranked it a few times in driveway and now getting cylinder 5 misfire. So I am headed to get a fourth COP in the morning. At least it's in my driveway now. I had just changed my intake manifold about 2-3 weeks ago and that entire bank on driver's side had large amounts of coolant in the wells when I changed the plugs while doing manifold. I think they all were stressed and are now failing with the new plugs and disturbing them. Funny thing is it ran great with those plug wells 1/3 filled with fluid.
