Running for about 45 minutes on highway. Have power, seamed like I ran out of gas. Gauge read 1/2 full - thought maybe false reading - someone else had been driving it so was not sure if reading could be wrong. Added about 3 gallon of gas - no help. I checked to see if I had spark - OK. I can hear the fuel pump prime when key is turned.

I'm guessing??? Clogged fuel filter? I would think this would have given some notice...like a sputter.

I have little experience with limited tools.

Just checked fuel line @ engine - no gas. Went to fuel filter - no gas.
Although I can hear the pump (priming) - nothing come thru the line

Any idead?

Thanks Jim

not too much help but....

When my fuel filter went on my Chevy S-10 back in colleg, it was the fuel filter. Sounds like you know it. Could be the relay too. That gave me warning (rough, studdering drive for about 1/4 mile).

Not the filter - no fuel in the filter - took off filter and turned the key. I can hear the pump priming but no gas.

If you're not getting fuel to the filter, there might be a clog in the fuel pump, or something may be broken inside the fuel pump. I'd have the truck towed home, drop the tank, and go from there.
