Hi everyone, I need your advice. I own a 1996 Ranger with a 4.0 motor. The automatic trans 4R55E has not completely died but is on its way out. The motor is very strong and never used oil or had any problems. I found out today that a friend has a 2003 Explorer with a blown 4.0 but has a good 5r55E in it and a very good body paint and interior. Everything works on the Explorer. My question is will my motor fit without any major changes other than the accessories or would it be better to put the tranny into my Ranger. I know from posts on here that the
5R55E will fit and work but not have the extra gear because of the lack of speed sensor. The Ranger has a great body and everything works on it too. The paint is the only thing that needs redoing. No rust on either vehicle which is extordinary in Hawaii!! Thanks for your advice!! Jon
