Explorer to ranger engine swap

Im wanting to take a 5.0 out pf a 01 explorer and put it in my 98 ranger just wondering what all I would have to get from the explorer to make the swap work. I was also wondering if the rear axle from the explorer will fit in my ranger

yes the rear axle should fit. you have to flip the perches though

everything and anything you can get your hands on. complete engine wiring harness, pcm,ecu, dash board transmission, transfer case, drive shafts.

hell! take the whole truck and steal what you need as you build.

Might even need the fuel pump and lines as the explorer will be a returnless fuel system.

My ranger is 2 wheel drive 5 speed I was wanting to keep it a 5 speed thinking of putting a mustang trans in

then you should stick with a mustang 5.0L motor to power that 5 speed.

and get the electronics for it as well.
