2003 Speaker Grilles

Can someone tell me how to get the speaker grilles off the door panels on my 2003 explorer 4 door? I tried the search and could not find the info.

Its only alittle over a month old so I dont want to break anything.

I think you have to take off the whole door pannel. But I could be wrong.

The grille is defiantly a separate piece. I have pulled up the edge alittle. But you could also be right. Just because its separate does not mean I don’t have to remove the whole thing.

I really do hope there is a way to get em off without removing the whole door panel.

The overall install is usually easier if you just pull the panel... Its usually just a few screws and panel pops...

The speaker grills are atually attatched to the door. The newer Ex's are really easy to get access to the speakers, the door is literally held on by 3 screws. If you try and take off the grill it self you might not ever be able to get it back on right. I dont think they are made to come apart seperatly. I have an 02' and I have not seen where they would seperate easily.

unscrew the three screws at the bottom of the door panel then the screws around the handle and lift the hole panel up and presto its off. once you do it once it will take you about 1 minute the next time. real easy job.

sounds a lot easier than these damn plastic 'gripper' pegs we are soo soo lucky have comes with ours

yeah I usta have a 97 xlt sport and those plastic gripper pegs are a pain in a$$
