2003 Explorer Sport Trac
Just purchased a 2003 sport trac. The driver side front end has a rattle when you hit a small pot hole or on rough roads. Anyone have any idea what to look for? Also the trim around the bottom and bumpers are faded. I tried the back to black which did not work. Any ideas what to use? Also the driver do door is hard to close. Thanks Keith

A few coats of Black Magic work well for me. I didn't like the gray and painted it black after a couple years of owning the truck though using Krylon Fusion. If you click on my registry link in my signature and scroll down a little you will see some pictures of it before I painted and after I painted.

First things to check on ST's are front sway bar end links and lower ball joints. Check your door hinges and strikers. If the door drops when you open it, hinges are worn. Before you attempt to adjust the striker with a T50 Torx socket, outline with a marker or pencil. Faded trim is difficult, if not impossible to save without painting. Best stuff I've used short term is Stoner's Trim Shine. GL

Thanks very much for info and help. Wanted a Sport Trac for years and finally got a older model and want to fix a few small issues.
