I recently bought OEM '03 Cobra Rims without test fitting and gathered some useful info for future reference. No you cannot use centercap, no it doesn't seat perfectly flat and good luck with tire not hitting upper control arm. Our front spindles/brake are like the rangers in the fact you will have to use a spacer and hammer to fit wheel and center cap. I believe the spacer will fix the seating problem since the spacer's center hole is bigger than the rims center. With the 9" width it doesn't seem to push the wheel out past the fender but puts the tire real close to the upper control arm (offset). I haven't decided yet but look as though I will be running a 1" spacer that bolts to spindle/brake and then wheel bolts to that (x2 tightening). This will allow me one solution to fix all the above problems, but then my truck might be widetrack! I don't know if the 3/4" spacer with longer studs would fit? If the front sticks out to much I will have to match the rear with equal spacers. Mine is a late '97 and I don't think there is a huge difference between the '98. By the way I will be running a 275/55/r17 General tire and not the factory Cobra F1's. Will be able to test fit with tires in a week or so.

Cool thanks for the reply. I also found a set with brand new Kumho's wrapped un 255's which is on there now. I may go with that one..

From just bolting the wheels on it is going to look pretty sick! I'm wanting to lowering mine a bit and cannot wait to have my pennies saved for the freakin' tires. I haven't ever seen an Exploder with these wheels so it will be new & unique to me at least.

Yes, they are nice and clean and give the explorer a nice sporty look without being too aggressive or flashy. Im going to wait until my treads run out and when they do I will buy these wheels and post pics!
