Recently, a Ford factory satellite/mp3/6 CD radio ready went up for sale on eBay. It was out of a 2004 Explorer. Pictures of the front and back looked like it would plug right into my 2002 Explorer's wiring harness and fit into the dash without a problem, but I wasn't 100% sure. I'm sure it's manufactured by Visteon.

What type of factory antenna does Ford use for satellite reception? I'm assumming a regular antenna wouldn't suffice. Also, are their any more electronic modules hidden in a 2004 that I don't have in my 2002?

Would appreciate feedback from anyone that has done this conversion.

Thanks.

Jag - I am wondering if you ever did this.
I just got myself 2002 EB and but it does not have the SAT button on the HU. My fathers 2004 EB does, and I was wanting to buy a factory HU with the SAT button and install in the 2002 EB.

thanks.
