Anyone have an idea of how I can troubleshoot this and hopefully fix it?

Check for a blown fuse first. Owner's Manual lists fuses and their use. There will likely be at least two, one in the "Battery Junction Box", under the hood, behind the battery, and another in the "Cab Fusebox", left of the steering column. Meanwhile, I'll fetch my wiring diagrams from the shop. You are saying the Cruiose Control button does not turn on C.C.? imp

It's more than likely the "brake pressure switch" , 9 times out of 10 that is the problem. Really easy to replace just need a wrench to spin it off. It's in your engine compartment near the oil dipstick.

That may be so, but looking at the wiring diagrams, the BPS is closed until 125 psi fluid pressure is reached, as a back-up against failure of the SC to drop out. He seems to be saying the SC does not engage at all. Not all vehicles have the BPS, only used with IVD. Any reason to not check fuses first?

When I get back tomorrow I will check the fuses and let you know. Thank you

Turns out, S.C. is pretty complicated nowadays. Check fuse 15, 16, 25, & 45 under hood; 15 under dashboard.

Just checked the fuses - all are ok. I watched a Youtube and it said it may well be the electrical part that screws into the master cylinder - I don't recall the name. Does that agree with what you know?

Yeah the brake pressure switch sits atop the master cylinder. You unscrew it and remove the two wires on the harness. That is usually the culprit costs around $20 I can almost guarantee it will fix your problem.

Just received the brake pressure switch. When I remove the old one, do I just unscrew it or do I need to do anything else before, like will brake fluid escape, etc? Thanks

It says "Is SCDS leaking? No? then Install Universal Fused Jumper Harness."
What is a Universal Fused Jumper Harness?
I replaced the Brake Pressure Switch just now, drove on the freeway and the cruise control did not come on. So what should be the next step I take to fix this? Thank you.
@1coolguy
Speed Control Switch, which feeds it's signals through the Air Bag sliding contact to the PCM, is possibly bad. imp

Cool guy's luck runs parallel to mine: his case was the 10th. time, not the brake pressurre switch. imp

bummer - $157 on Rock Auto. Guess I'll wait on this one. Thanks everyone!

Wasted my money with the brake pressure switch...
My 2002 was the switch on the steering wheel bought a used set through Amazon for $40.00 and has worked since...

is there a way to determine if it's the switch, as there are none of my type on Ebay and new ones are $160. Thanks
