2004 Ranger 4.0L SOHC in my 99 Ex?

Anyone know how to bypass the oil level sensor in the oil pan, I really don't wan to pull this pan off and swap since the pan that is on it does not leak and most likely when I swap the pan it will leak afterword. I don't really care about the message center and was thinking of removing it, also I broke the connector when pulling the old engine. Anyone have an EVTM and can tell me what wire to apply power or ground to to keep it from lighting a low oil level light?

Finally started the engine for the first time today!! Runs really rough right now but could be spark plug wire or something simple. The exhaust is not on and no O2 sensors are connected.

I ended up change the oil pan to the old one and keeping the sensor. Also I kept the 2004 valve covers and adapted the 99 PCV to vent throught the valve cover on the drivers side.

I think my starter is going bad I had to tap on it to get it to turn over. Felt good to hear that engine run since I had never heard it before.

It appears that the flanges on the exhaust have a different bolt spacing on the 04, when i tried to bolt up the exhaust it did not fit. Anyone know where i can get flanges? I will have to cut the pipe to put them on.

Can you just swap exhaust manifolds between motors? It would save you cutting and welding.

I sold the old engine with the manifolds on it.

Truck has been up and running for a week now, engine seems to be doing great. Only things that don't work properly are the temp sender for the water temp gauge, the other sensor for the ECU is working fine per the readout on my scan gauge. Most likely I reversed the wires when I spliced in the new connector (different on the 99 harness). The other item is the message center says oil temp sensor error when I do a system check, I didn't even know if had an oil temp sensor, must be built in to the oil level sensor. I modified the exhaust flanges buy adding some plates with slotted holes to the existing flanges.

Congatulations!
I love to hear the success stories.

Very encouraging to all of us.
