2004 Tail Lights???

I am currently upgrading from a 1997 sport to a 2004 eddie bauer and lets face it the tale lights on the 2004 kinda stick out especially on a black eddie bauer. i want to swap them out, but euro tail lights are alittle tacky. I want to put in the new explorer tail lights from the 2006 or 2007 in my new 2004 but i am unsure if they will fit. By the looks of the bodies Ford did not change the rear end much from 2004 to 2006 or 2007. Can anyone shead some light on the subject as to weather these will fit or not before i spend money on the new tail lights?

im not 100% sure but i dont think they will fit, my bro has a 2006 and i thought about swapping them with my 2002 but never tried.....

I've seen this same question on other forums. Unfortunatly, they will not work. I believe the difference is in the lighting hardware. The way the 06 wiring is, it won't let you mount them onto a 02-05 model.

Does anybody know exactly why they wont fit, if its mounting hard wear is it a lack of space? is the rear panel different? can somebody take a photo of an 06 explorer with a tail light removed? My Aussie spec 04 explorer has different tail lights to the US ones and I wanna try fit 06 type lights into my truck. We never had the 06 explorer here so its impossible for me to find out if they will fit or not. Cheers!
