HI

I am brand new to the world of trucks and suvs. This is my first one! I need to lift my xlt 2 inches and need a body lift kit. I have searched here in Louisville and can't find anything. Does anyone know where I can purchase such a kit? I need help. THX

First of all, welcome to the site. A qiuck search of the site should reveal a few answer, also try going to the Suspension forum here. Your best bet for 2" is shackles and a TT (torsion twist) There are other alternatives. To learn more about these, use the search on the menu bar at the top of each page

Nope he said 2004 XLT! Thats a new 3rd gen. I don't think any one has done a BL on a 3rd gen yet...nor would you want to! The frame already shows too much in stock form! :nono: I belive there are some lifts in the works, something about adjustable shocks or something.

I think the 3rd gens have torsion bars in the rear too. Instead of a body lift, he could just do a double TT! He'd have to have the camber adjusted, but he should be able to get 2" out of it if that is in fact how the 3rd gens are set up.

????????? Don't know.

Yeah they are coils / shock all in 1 like a car. They have had a prototype setup with lift coilovers that rick had a pic of and they fitted 32's on it no prob. The 3rd gen suspention is VERY different from and 2nd gen. If anyone want specific pics of anyhting my mom has a 2004 and i can comepare to my 00' if needed

I was wrong, they have a linear rate coil-over shock in the front and a variable rate coil-over shock in the rear. Don't know how to lift that. I would imagine that you could just modify a 2 inch body lift from a 2000+ ranger kit. It shouldn't be that difficult. Really, all you're doing is un-doing the body mount bolts, lifting the body, and sliding in spacers. The tough part may be dropping the raditor and fabbing up bumper brackets. Good Luck!

I agree with Stic-O, Ford is showing too much frame stock, a BL would just compound the matter, I think a 265/75R16 (32x10.50) will fit stock on a 3rd gen

If I had a 2004 and tons of loot, I'd set up the suspension like an H1. That would be sweet!

You guys are incredible. Thanks for all the help! Please continue to post and give me feedback so that Ii can get my project done! VEGA
