I just came home from the dealership today, I signed up for a test drive of an F-150 and figured I would try out an Expedition they had on the lot, 4x4 Eddie Bauer, really nice. Must say I loved it, the power, it didn't feel much bigger than my sport. It rode so much nicer, and it had V8 power. Even with the stock exhaust on it, just to hear the 5.4 off idle was incredible. It was an 05 with 35,000 miles on it, for about 20k. Since my truck is getting up there in age, I've decided to look for a new vehicle. I want something with a V8, preferably the larger V8 option. I was originally looking at pickups only, but started to look at the Tahoes, then I thought, Expedition. The power and torque was incredible, transmission crisp and smooth, the ride was much much better than anything I'm used to, with a bit of body roll, but nothing thats not expected. In a few months, I believe this is the vehicle I may be purchasing in a few months after I save up enough money for a nice down payment. Does anyone have any experiences with these? Good or bad? I appreciate any input.

My .02... Expeditions are pretty popular around here; I don't recall seeing one at the side of the road, so they seem to be well made. That doesn't help much, but, sounds like that's a good deal! (You'll be keeping the Sport?)

keep us posted what u decide to get

I have a '98 xlt 2wd bought it with 109,000 miles on it. It is still one of the nicest vehicles I have ever driven. Only one I liked better was my '99 F-350 Turbo Diesel 4x4 Dually. Damn I miss that truck!!

Im glad to hear there hasn't been too many issues. When I do get one, I will be sticking around here, I like this site way too much. I may not do any wheeling with it, but I'm sure it will get some appearance upgrades, bigger tires and such, and maybe a small lift via coil springs, and of course I will have to put a nice exhaust system on it, just because it is a big V8 and the stock muffler is the size of a trash can... Wish my tax refund and and rebate checks would get here... I do not intend to keep the sport, I wish I could, if I had the room and money, I would keep it, SAS it, possibly do a V8 swap and make a mean little wheeler out of it, but unfortunately, I do not have the money to do both. My main reason for upgrading is to get something newer and perhaps more reliable since I do quite a bit of driving. I don't have it yet, and I will still be as active on here as I am now. This has to be one of the best and friendliest websites I have ever been on. Thanks again for all the input.

Dan
