Thinking of a Volant intake for my 05 4.0 sohc. Do these cause driveability problems in cold temps? Winter temps in Alberta can be harsh (-30C sometimes) I remember the heated air intake back in the carburetor days. if you didn't hook that up, your carb iced up. Does FI suffer from any kind of icing? I am looking for better mileage and am also going to add a Bama modded computer.

i dont believe these are out yet for the '05, they're only listed as being available for 02-03

While the conditions I live in are probably not as cold as yours, I have a K&N Generation II intake on my '02 XLT V6, and it has performed fine in temps as low as -15F (during a time of five days when the temp never got over -5F). I added a stainless grille blocker the first winter I had the vehicle, forgot to put it on for the second winter, and really noticed no difference at all.
