Vehicle 2005 Explorer 2005 4.0
Explorer died while my wife was driving. She said it running rougher than normal, then when leaving a parking lot it just died. I noticed that I could not hear the fuel pump priming when the ignition was turned on. That lead me to believe it was a bad fuel pump.
Since then I have changed the pump out, but still not starting.
Here is what I have figured out so far:
I have power at the pump but no ground. I made a jumper wire from the pump ground to the body. Fuel pump turns on and creates fuel pressure, still no start.
Fuel injectors are not pulsing when cranking.
Power at coil pack but does not have ground with key on.
Mechanic friend brought over scanner and cam position and crank position sensors are synchronized.
No codes at all.
Fuses, relays, inertia switch all good.
Mechanic friend thought it could be a bad computer, but those rarely are the issue right?
What would cause the fuel pump, coil, and injectors to not have ground when cranking?
