2005 F150 Tow Hooks on a 2003 X

Does anyone know if the 2005 F150 hooks will work on a 2003 explorer?

I don't think so... see this thread. http://explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=220875 First post says... "That body style went from 97 - 03 so there should be plenty of hooks out there."

I put F150 tow hooks on mine and I couldn't get the brackets to work that came with them, because there's no way to them in the frame, so I just used bolts. They kick ass though and I think are necessary if you go off road at all.

no you have to use the 98-03.

I just did some on my 04 and they look great.


There is a post about it , just search.

Basically get the hooks, some grade 8 1/2inch 2inch long bolts. 1/2inch Whiz nuts which are grade 5 and that is all you need. ( all i used)
