2005 Sport Trac Adrenalin
Hello,
New here needing some specific help.
My 2005 Sport Trac Adrenaline has a problem with the turn signal/wiper combination switch (turn signal arm from the steering column).
I got in the truck the other night and the turn signal relay was clicking as if the signal was on. I tried the signal and they all worked properly but the clicking didn't stop, even when I shut off the engine.
I pulled of the battery cable to save the battery (too dark to work under the dash) and replaced the relay under the dash the next day. No change; still clicking. My trusted mechanic encouraged me to change out the turn signal/wiper arm myself which I'm confident i can do. Problem: I CAN'T FIND ONE!
So far, the parts houses that do list the part are out of stock, apparently the part is unique to the 05 (?). They all list the same manufacturer/importer so I called them. They are out and said it is "up for review" to discontinue it in their organization.
Further, (sorry this is so long) I am getting all kinds of mixed messages on EBAY as to what will fit my '05; some say '05-06 Expedition and so on.

Before I go to my Ford dealer, I am hoping to get some insight from you folks:
-Is there another part (year, model) that is interchangeable?
-Is there a way to "repair" the one I have?
-Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to EF. Although multi function switch (MFS) failure is somewhat common, you may have a known MFS wiring connector issue. IF you have a tilting steering wheel, move it up and down a couple times leaving it all the way UP. If that corrects your issue(s) the factory MFS wiring is too short causing intermittent problems. If no fix, the MFS switch should be readily available from RockAuto using their usually accurate pictures for comparison.

That is great info! Much thanks and I'll let you know how things go.

You can take them apart and usually fix them if it’s the switch. They get corroded inside. A good polish and some dielectric and you’ll be good to go.

It's not that the wiring is too short. It's taped to other wiring or the lower steering column in such a way that there's not enough slack at the top end for the tilt wheel to move without pulling the wiring connectors out of the MFS. You can carefully cut the tape and gain the slack needed.

Not the exact same but i worked on a 02 i think it was sport trac with turn signal issues and after changing the MFS and checking wiring i found out that it is ran through the same power with the brake light switch down on the pedal, That ended up being the issue even though the brake lights worked! An its a local guy they still work today and that was about a year ago. The MFS is a breeze to change and i can tell you how if you want.

Hello, I need help. There is no sound coming out of my left speakers and my subwoofer, but everything is fine on the right side

Thank you.
