We've been having some issues with some of the instruments not working on the gauge cluster. Got in the truck this past weekend and was driving or a couple miles when i noticed that the fuel gauge was the only thing working! Everything else was dead and instead of showing the mileage, there was just ------- for that and the trip meter, and the engine light was on. We got about 10miles away from our house, parked and before i turned the ST off, the gauges started working again. Got to my parents and put the OBD tester on it when it did it again and it showed no codes, so we're thinking there might be a short in the wires. Then, this past sunday, the speedometer quit working for a bit while driving then decided to start working again. Haven't had any issues since.. The only odd thing that my wife said about it, it's her truck and she drives it all the time, was that she smelled something prir to this, as if it was wire burning. Anyone have any thoughts or insights as to what they think might be going on? Thanks

Steven

I'm having these same issues. The gauges will stop working, engine light comes on and "- - - - - -" on the odo. It usually does it right from startup then every now and then it'll all of a sudden go back to normal for a few minutes then guages will freeze up again. Sometimes I can tap on the plastic covering the guages and it'll work again. I also clocked my mileage while it does this and when the guages are frozen it does NOT add/calculate the mileage. I suppose I could keep driving like this and keep my trac with low miles haha, but it's annoying as heck not knowing how fast i'm going or how much gas I actually have.

Any thoughts/ideas would be appreciated.

Jason
