When I get back from Ghost Towning (I leave Wednesday :), I plan to look at a new vehicle as my Explorer lease will be up in Dec.

Please note that I get the A-Plan price, plus I can also get the GM Employee price, and Is ee Dodge has employee pricing on their vehicles again too.

Because of the savings, and the rebates and what not, plus witht he Ford plan I get an extra $1,000 from my Grandmother because my Grandfather was an hourly worker :-) So that about works out to $6K in A-plan savings on $30K+ vehicles plus then toss on the rebate ontop...hehehe Not bad.

Which brings me to, the 2006-2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac 4x4 Limited, it seems loaded with everything it is a good bang for the buck over the Explorer. I think with tax it came to like $30K with all the bells and whistles. Not a bad price...this time I plan to own/buy. What do you all think of the Sport Trac??? I am assuming it being pretty much an Explorer it will be a good vehicle...plus being able to haul stuff, plus my Motorcycle from time to time will be a nice feature.

The other vehicle I was considering is a 2007 Ford Focus ST. Good gas milage, be fun to drive and is only about $15K after tax and that is for a loaded one. Anyone here have one of those, and how are they?

The wife ont he otherhand is thinking maybe she will get a new vehicle instead of me and I would take her 2005 Grand Prix GTP that is loaded (I love the heads up display) and she is looking at the Mercury Milan. Can anyone here give a reveiw on that car?

It is a hard choice...on one hand I do not want to pay $3 a gallon to fill up the 22.5 Explorer tank anymore...on the other I love the ability to go off roading and be able to drive through the snow when others are stuck home in the winter. Then even on another hand I also have a 1988 Grand Marquis LS that runs great and could just drive that (which I already do) and wait till it dies and save the $300-$500 a month payment for a new car. Who knows maybe the 1988 Grand Marquis will last 2 more years, maybe longer...it would be great not having that payment every month.

I hate decisions....LOL The is a whole host of other vehicles I like too and still considering from the BMW 330xi, Pontiac GTO, Grand Prix GXP, FJ Cruiser, H3, or even the Lotus Elise.

Talk about being indecisive. I would just wait a while save the car payment, and decide really what it is you want to do with your next vehicle. It will save you the heartache when you buy a car and 5 months down the road you decide its not what you want. I know from personal experience, as when I bought my 02 explorer I thought it was what I wanted, but now I just want my damn econo-box jap beater back. Not because of saving on gas, but because it was just alot more fun to drive. Now I'm stuck owing more than the vehicle's worth, and probably will have to keep it for a couple more years, and the damn tranny is ready to fall out of it.

Sorry for the long post, just make sure you know what you want, before you go and get it. If not it will bite you back in the end.
