2006 Eddie Bauer Explorer
Hey everyone. So I have kind of an oddball question. I'm being asked to testify in court for a close friend of mine, we served together. Neighbor claims he put something in the glove box of my friend's 2006 Explorer Eddie Bauer edition, and then locked it. The thing is, from what I know that generation Explorer didn't have a lockable glove box. Now, I used to be ASE certified, I graduated top of my class at Lincoln Tech, worked for Tesla even, and then independently for myself. Been out of the service field for a while now however, and I don't know how to go about gettung the documentation proving that the 2006 Eddie Bauer Explorers did not have a lockable glove box. Friend no longer has access to the car, nor any paperwork for it, unfortunately. Would a dealership schematic printout work? Don't need legal advice guys, just trying to help a combat veteran friend out against a greedy and sleazy neighbor, and to be as bulletproof as possible on the stand. Thanks in advance.

and if i may ask, what did the neighbor put in the vehicle? that person sounds annoying:shoot:give em the book:hammer:

not sure what qualifies as legal evidence that there is no lockable glove box, as every lockable one ive seen has no wiring going to it anyways, so there would be no wirign evidence, otehr than photos. i wonder if you can ask your lawyer on exactly what would qualify

Thanks for the prompt reply! Not my lawyer, it's my friend's lawyer. Basically they said that they put a gun in the glove box and locked it , and then my friend stole the gun. Long story, but the neighbor and my boy used to be cool, but then the neighbor got into drugs and all kinds of sketchy stuff, and is trying to make money off "snitching" on people, except he made all this up. The glove bix for that year does not have a lock on it, I just need maybe a schematic printout of it? I dunno...

yeah, im unsure of exactly how much proof is neeeded. i wonder if your boy goes with the neighbor and takes pics of it (with the neighbor so they know he doesnt disturb nothin) so that there is proof there is no lock. then again, theres no talking ssne with stupid. can they search your buddys place for a gun? and also find evidecne of tampering int he vehicle? did they leave any prints on the glovebox? im no lawyer, nor do i play one 🤣 so im not too sure of legal stuff

2006 was a new generation ;) 05-06 brought a host of changes, it got a new frame, interior design, different suspension, to name a few

When did that new generation start being manufactured? 2005 then?

There's hardly room in the glove box for almost any hand gun. Can't barely fit the owners manual in there. And it the owner's manual is in there, no way you're getting a gun in there, depending on the model of gun.

My '06 has no lock.

I believe 2005 would have to be the start of the build for than gen.

according to wikipedia they started to be built july 05

pretty sure it was 2006 because it was the truck of the year.
there is no locking glovebox and also you would need the key to lock a locking glovebox anyways.
