My ABS light comes on a few minutes after moving. The wrench and the traction control light also come on. I can clear the wrench by pushing the reset button, but they other 2 lights stay on. The car runs and stops fine, I don't feel the brakes "pumping" when I stop. I got under the rear and checked the "geared wheel" thing that the sensor looks at and it appears tight. Any ideas as to what it could be? Thanx Jack

Using a Snap-on Solus Pro scanner we got code C1235 which is "RR Wheel Speed Sensor Input Missing". We removed the sensor and in appears to have touched the ring as a small groove was cut into the sensor. I plan to replace that sensor. The sensor has about a 2ft cable with it. I hope that will fix it as trying to check the cable going to the front of the car would be job.

Appears tight is misleading, mine was too. Look super close for cracks, try every trick you can think of to do so. I ended up getting it pinpointed via dealership computer and replaced the right rear pulse ring myself. Kind of a big job for a $25 part.

Why are you only checking the rear. These are 4-channel ABS systems, plus traction control and stability control. Could be the front. Anyone know if the free code checks at autoparts stores would read a brake code?

Wouldn't your ScanGuage II show them?

Yes, but what good would my ScanGage do for the OP?
I don't have the problem.
I'm trying to give jecklemke a solution to his problem.

My local Auto Zone has the scan tool that will also do ABS. I would advise the Original Poster to check availability of such services local to them!

Mine did EXACTLY what the OP described when it was the rear. The front was a weird violent deal that involved a new hub. I did pinpoint the front with a scanner I bought that reads ABS and airbag codes as well. It's been handy having the ABS feature.....
