Fuses have been checked and switch seems to be working because some light comes on when switch is turned. Any ideas?

Dome light comes on with switch.

I don't understand your question. What "daytime dash lights" are you referring to? The LED lights in the instrument cluster?

Yes. They are not visible during the day but when the head lights are turned on they all work except the radio dosplay.

The dash lights only come on when the headlights are on at least thats the way my 2010 is. Also a 2012 navigator with auto headlights is the same no cluster lights during the day they come on with the headlights.

So is your question on the radio lights not working when the headlights are turned on?

I'm sorry. Now during the day you can hardly see the instrument panel, gas gauge, etc. At night when the head lights are on you can see everything except now you can't see the radio display or clock. I dont have auto headlights or daytime running lights. My husband checked every fuse he could find with a tester and didn't find any bad.

The instrument lights are hard to see during the day time with the headlight switch on or off it is normal. If you look hard enough you should see a slight difference though when you turn on the headlights during the day. It is also possible there is a couple burnt out bulbs the 4th gen does not use leds to light the instrument lights and they do burn out every now and again. To fix a burnt out bulb you have to pull the instrument cluster. Before doing that check the dimmer wheel it's below the headlight switch make sure is all the way to the right just befor it turns all the interior lights on).

The radio display has a common problem of a solder joint going bad that causes you to not be able to see the display. It is an easy fix if you know how to solder. Do a search for dim radio display in the 4th gen forum and there is a tutoral on how to fix it.

Actually I found the post for you here it is
How To Fix your dim radio display

This is a 2006 but it applies to all models with this display.

Thank you. The switch is all the way on. I did find put something must be loose in the radio lighting because I hit it today and it came on. It seems that it's much harder to see the gas gauge, etc than it used to be. I'll have my husband check the bulbs.
