I know this has been posted about before but nobody seems to have the same problem that I am having. I changed the door ajar switch thinking that was the problem. Install went fine but when I got everything back together it still was ajar. I checked continuity of the old switch and found it is a normally closed switch but it continuity opened and closed fine when I actuated it with my thumb. I plugged the old switch back in and actuated with my thumb to simulate the door closing which did nothing to the door ajar problem. Where do I go from here? Thanks

Marcel

There is a door ajar switch in each door and the liftgate so you need to know which one is bad or you will be guessing.

I didn't think that really mattered to anyone for diagnostics. It is the driver door.

I rembember the rangers had a bad batch of dome light relays , id check that too!

I know this is an old thread, but it doesnt look like a fix was found. I have the exact same problem with the right front door. I replaced the door ajar switch since they aren't real expensive. But discovered that nothing changed. I still have the door ajar warning, (it specifically indicates its the front passenger door). Is there a relay or something else that could be bad?
