2006 Explorer transmission problems

2006 automatic transmission
When we put it into reverse it makes a loud popping sound the button is pushed in and foot on brake also it jerks when it gets into gear we thought it was the mounds so we had it looked at and were told they were fine so what is making it do this anybody have ideas?

It is V6 2WD

I have the same issue. Mine is a V6. 4 wheel drive.

Welcome to this forum! It could have a bad U joint. A transfer case problem usually sounds like a lot of grinding, and not just a popping noise.
