- 2006 Explorer
Hello.
I own a 2006 Explorer. I recently noticed that whenever I take off, my Explorer will "rev" yet only move about 1/2 speed. It is as if it has not fully dropped into gear. Eventually, after driving for a few minutes, I can feel it shift into gear and the vehicle responds normally. This is somewhat dangerous when crossing or making a left hand turn into oncoming traffic, as sometimes I can press on the gas (almost half way down) and I see the RPM go UP, but the car is "dragging"
I decided to have the car checked out from Mullinax, where I purchased it originally.
The car is at the Ford Dealership today to be checked. The warranty is up to 75k and the car has 71k. The service tech just called to say they were unable to find the same problem after a test drive. This is somewhat strange as it always occurs for me as of late. I am wondering if they might be just telling me they can't find it or what?
Does anyone know what might be causing this and how I should proceed.
Thanks for reading.
