2006 Explorer XLT Muffler

I have a flowmaster 40 series on my x now with the 4.0 V6. Sounds good..but could be better.

Im wondering if I cut the resonator off this weekend...how much of a sound difffernce will it make?

Deeper?
Higher?
Longer?
Less "Bubbly"?

It would be a little bit louder. V6's sound like V6's

Ya. See my buddy's got an 07 Ranger with the 4.0 6 in it and just got dual with a flowmaster 60..and it sounds just like my RAm with the 5.2...it sounds great.

Well heres the video of my 06 Explorer with the V6 with a Flowmaster 40 on it. Still has resonator on it (soon to be gone)

Im not CRAZY about the sound...but its better than stock.

SO I was thinking aboutgetting duals installed, with a magnaflow catback system. Is $500 a good price installed?

Duals are a waste of weight, money and space on a V6 IMO. I recommend Aero Turbine mufflers, they sound great on V8s and V6s.

Im not sure whether there true duals or not. He said catback duals for 500 or duals for 300...so im guessing true dual is 500? Ill double check with them.

See...the dual on the v6 doesnt sound great...but itll sound better than it is now. Like i said before, my friends v6 ranger sounds awesome with single in, dual out flowmaster 60

I got single in and dual out 40 series on my 01 sport and i love how it sounds big difference. Previous owners of my sport had the 70 series and it sounded to quiet for me thats why i got rid of it.
