2006 Explorer Limited
Just purchased a 2006 explorer limited. Seems the previous owner must have had aftermarket speakers and such and there is currently an amp under the second seat that powers the four door speakers. That seems to operate fine and sounds really good however the factory subwoofer has a continuous humming sound with feedback. I can actually hear it getting louder as I rev the engine or do something electronic like put on the high-beams or turn on a directional. I have disconnected the amp just to see if that is the cause of the feedback in the sub. but that had no effect. In fact with the volume turned all the way down the humming remains constant and stays at the same volume. The only time it stops is when the radio is turned off fully. Any thoughts?

I would be almost willing to bet they have the factory sub amped as well. I have never seen a factory amp have feedback. I would look to see if it is the case and if so, you can go to your local electronics store and get an inline noise filter that plugs into the inputs on the amp and the outputs from the source. That should get rid of it. Usually that is caused by a bad ground.
