Hello all. Thanks for the add. I recently bought a 2007 Explorer that I discovered the parking brake on the drivers side was not working. I removed the wheel and found the cable with the piece that goes into the backing plate hanging loose, not in the backing plate. The rubber piece that fits in the backing plate was attached to the linkage and damaged. I tried to reinstall it as is with no luck. Has anyone ever had this problem and if so, where can I get a new rubber grommet and is there anything holding this linkage in the backing plate other than the grommet?
