2007 Sport Trac Lid Connector Newbie ?

I crawled into the back of the truck and looked last night. I have the same strut. I have a simple twist handle to open. The strut seems to have failed in my truck, almost seems to work in reverse trying to keep it shut.

Fancy stuff - my 08 definitely does not have one of those, you have to keep it open yourself.

huh, mine has the handle that pops the compartment lid open, I wonder why they changed it from 07 to 08? btw I use mine all the time, and the little ones in the back on the bed too

That has always been a Ford deal. Make a zillion different changes in the same model and in the same year.

I think the new CEO has changed that philosophy.

Im guessing theyy dropped it cause they were junk. Mine is the same as the others and wont hold it open, so I,ll replace it with a generic one.

Do I have to take the mounts off to ge the shock out?? or does it remove some other way. Kinda dark back there and I havent looked at it too hard yet.

The shock has small clip on each end. So you pop those off and the shock should pull off .

I can still get the duct tape and lye out. I just use the back of my hand to keep it open.
