Today I was changing front pads and rotors and noticed the the left hub seems tight. Maybe it's not, but the right side was a little more loose. Based on my video, can anyone say it's fine, or replace it? There is no vertical or horizontal play in it what so ever. I can turn it, but only with some force. I haven't felt new ones to be able to tell the difference.

Forgot to add, thanks in advance!! I love this site. Tons of info.

Specs.:

2007 XLT
4.0 liter V6
73k miles
2 wheel drive

There will be always some resistance. When one of my hubs went bad, it was humming and noisy. Do you hear anything ?

When I took it off the knuckle, and I spun it in my hands, I felt grinding compared to the new one out of the box. If you have few minutes extra, take it off especially since it is 2 wd so no front axles.

Thanks for your reply, I certainly appreciate it! There is no growling, hum, noise or anything. I was thinking some resistance is normal, but didn't know how much was normal. As you probably know, a hub-29 is ~$230, so I don't want to replace it if it isn't necessary. Thanks again!

Maybe I should be more worried about fixing my air hose leak!

I used hub29 for mine, then used hub67 next time and it also fit and it's cheaper. Search forum on that.
