My ST came with the free subscription, and I kinda' enjoy it. Is the tuner built into the radio, or is it a separate box, aftermarket style? I'm thinking about a new head unit with DVD capabilities and headrest monitors for the kids, so I need to figure out what I need. Thanks.

:chug::burnout:

it should have come with the factory HU
if you switch HU's you will need HU that is Sirius ready, a tuner and an antenna.

I cant live with out my Sirius :D

So it IS built-in? That's what I needed. I do like Sirius, and my factory setup has it. I was just checking if I needed the $100 box when I order my new head unit. Evidently, I do :( So far, I think it may be worth it.

What unit were you looking to get? Its well worth it i think. I got Sirius around 2 years ago and havent looked back. What stations your favorite so far?

No it's not built in the radio, it's a separate module that's only compatible with Ford radios.

Does anyone make adapters that you know of? Maybe to convert it to Kenwood or JVC?

I just bought a 08 Sport xlt and I replaced the factory HU with aftermarket. I did however have to buy the sirius tuner but I was able to use my factory antenna, I was also able to swap the free 6 month subscription over as well.

The factory sirius box is located behind the glove box.

That's helpful, also. I'll dig in there to see if it's proprietary. It maybe made by Pioneer or Terk or one of the bigger companies, but it's likely a Visteon OEM that won't protocol-match to anything :(

. What stations your favorite so far?

For music 23 Hair Nation, channel 8 the big 80's, 22 First Wave, 26 hard attack.

Talk 144 The Patriot

Other Blue Collar radio
and
152 Baltimore / DC traffic :)

I've been listening to Hair Nation, Octane, and Hard Attack mostly. Some separate tweeters on the factory system mounted high would improve the sound tenfold.
