2010 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer transmission fluid temp sensor location

I have a 2010 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 4.0. My transmission fluid temp sensor is bad and needs replaced. I can’t seem to find it any tips I have the pan dropped working on taking valve body apart. Is the sensor internal or external?

I just curious what how do you know the fluid temp sensor is bad. You getting codes for it or something else?

From the info I found online the sensor is located on the solenoid block. Thats all I could find on a location.
