2010 Mustang 4.0 SOHC to 99 XLT 4X4

I have a 1999 Explorer XLT with a 4.0 SOHC. I have read some threads that stated the late model 4.0 Mustang engines will work in my vehicle as long as just the long block is used. I am just doube checking to make sure before I buy an engine. I am not concerned with the lack of a balance shaft. Thanks in advance for your comments.

I am going to follow that thread as soon as I purchase the engine. I just want to make sure there are no changes in bolt hole patterns or anything else that matters from 2006 to 2010.

Has anyone used a 2005+ Mustang 4.0 SOHC in a '99 Explorer XLT or older Explorer.
