hey hey dont need extreme power, but someday would be fun!
This is what all gear heads say. After the extended warranty expired on my '89 Mustang I thought 8psi from a Kenny Bell 1.6L blower on a stock 5.0L would be plenty of power. A few years later and I was running 16psi on a stock short block with Blowzilla/Flowzilla manifolds on a 2.2L KB blower, ported/rebuilt GT40-X heads and lower intake, 42lb injectors and a completely modified fuel system, a reworked exhaust system, a water injection system, a Tweecer and J&S Safeguard, a Spec Stage 3 clutch and a Viper spec T56 transmission. After doing all this Ford came out with the 2003 Terminator Mustang that was faster than mine, cost less overall, had far better creature comforts and could be had with a 100k bumper to bumper warranty! This is when I stopped dumping money into the '89.

LOL, that is completely true. The upgrade costs will get out of hand fast.. I was aiming at twin turbos for my 347 into my Mark VII, then I realized how easy it was to wreck my first one with just a shift kit and heads/intake. You have to wisely set limits, what's right for one car isn't for some others.

The 302 Explorer platform is restricted horribly, the exhaust and the AWD somewhat. I have a 2.2 KB new in a closet, and decided that won't be enough given the platform. So it's available when I find a buyer, and a 2.6 is my target blower now, with a large intercooler. The J&S Safeguard is on my list also, I like the safety of a timing retard system.

I'll also find out how that 6R80 feels, shifts etc, that should be interesting with the SBF and AWD. That 6th gear is the same 0.70:1 as the 5R has 5th gear, and the 4R has in 4th gear. The 6R lets you use much steeper rear gears, I have 3.08's in boxes now.

Look at Brenspeed, 411 rwhp. I’ve been wanting to do this myself. Need to save up some cheddar
now i know who to blame!!!! in all seriousness, WOAH! :o
