Has anybody had to have their transmission rebuilt under warranty? I cant believe with only 36k miles it has gone out.

Couple of days ago, I put the explorer in reverse, hear a loud grinding/clicking noise, and then I'm stuck.

Ford is having to completely rebuild the tranny. Thank fully its covered under the power train warranty.

Do you know what transmission it is? We could put out a warning of some kind. Did Ford still use the 5R55S in 2010?

Its a 5 speed Auto with o/d, thats all the window sticker says. How can you tell which one it is?

That says enough. V6 got the 5-speed. V8 got the 6-speed. Ford wouldn't change the transmissions in 2010, knowing they were replacing the line with a crossover in 2011.

i know its a different year but same tranny, i have an 02 and i have replaced the tranny 2 times, once at 80k and the other at 130k both done by ford and each costing 3500.00. good luck
