I have a 2011 Explorer XLT. The bottom outside molding on the windshield has a rubber portion that meets the glass and is attached to the plastic part of the molding. The rubber has basically disintegrated. It dry rotted and has fallen apart leaving a gap. Between the bottom of the windshield and the molding.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so is there anything that can be done to correct it and prevent it from happening again?

Did you ever get a response to this post? I have a 2102 Explorer Limited (purchased brand new) with exactly the same problem, just discovered last week. Where else may I look for more information on this aggravating and unexpected problem?
