Bring the new explorer, this can be the first "test" run for it!
Chris and I went out late (11:30 at night) on friday night for a quick run by my house. His winch quit and I broke my drivers hub trying to get him out so I was only 3 wheel drive (I have spare hubs but the hub tube was junk). We tried to take an "easy" trail out up a long skider road. I got half way up and slid off the bank and ended up going over. I rolled into a tree that stoped me from rolling again but it finished off my windshield. We got it winched back up the bank onto the road and on its wheels, toped off the fluids and got it running again. I was able to get to the top and help Chris try to get past the spot where I rolled. Chris couldn't get past it without starting to slide so we tried to winch him past. Dan was winching Chris from behind him with a snatch-block to a tree infont of him... that didn't work. Chris started to go over just like I did, the last second he floored it in reverse and managed to swing his back around off the bank and down into where I was and a tree stoped him from going the rest of the way. We got Chris out and tried to take him out a different way now that the bank was gone. We had to winch with two different rigs for about an hour to get him up another trail that you couldn't even walk up. On the way back out Andy rolled his Samurai trying to climb another bank, we got him back on his wheels and headed home. I walked in the door at 5:30am... Long night but we had fun. I need to fix some stuff so Its ready for our next trip in the snow.
Oh, 4.0L do stay running upside down, I had to shut it off so it wouldn't run out of oil:roll:
Wish I had my camera, the only pic's I have are from when we got back.
