2011 NWX Hangover run to Lonesome Lake

Did you get a new exploder for x-mass?

It's not Christmas yet, but,,,,,,,,,,,,,Abby IS getting a sister But I think she'll be a parts rig.

She's going to hang out at Joe's place for a while. ;)

Your new door doner rig? whats wrong with it?

It has a couple of issues,
But the good is
it has what looks like a OEM firestone ATX spare that has not been used, it may still be able to get it swapped for new tire.
4/3 Tuff country lift kit
Manual hubs
body is straight and in good shape.
Arm rest is intact
D4 axle code
31" tires
tow package
moon/sun roof
leather interior
electric transfer case works

The bad
a little valve clatter at start up
idles fine, but when given gas it stumbles, I didnot find that out till I was loading it on the trailer.
left front caliper needs to be put on, so not much for brakes right now
needs a good cleaning.
drivers side inner door panel has a the door handle broke
aftermarket stereo needs a code to function
front windsheild is broke

Thanks Joe!!

I'll square with you on the New Years run, if not before.

I'll trade you for my red explorer...

We used to go party up there in highschool along the river. Learned a valuable lesson up there...dont put all your beer in one truck, its usualy the one that gets pulled over on the way up and has to pour it all out on the side of the road... :(

Sounds like Chris and Andy might try to make it. I would still like to find a parking spot for trucks and trailers up closer to 75 if anyone has any ideas? Theres a wide gravel pull off just before the slippery creek (I think thats the roads name?) on the other side of the road by the river. However if theres much snow then that spot wouldn't work, Any other ideas?

When you say Slippery Creek do you mean the wide area by the river before you come into Greenwater? There was no snow in that area on Dec 18th although it sounds like that may have very well changed in the last week?

I've been looking at map and thinking hard about parking and the best spot I think is to turn left on Nf-70 and there is a large parking area right away on the right only oh 50-100 yards in from 410. From there turn to Nf-75 is only 1.6 miles on hwy 410.

Other alternative is after you turn right off of 410 towards Fs-74/75 you cross a bridge and then there is a gravel spot maybe big enough for 3-4 trailers/tow rigs to park. We aired up there last couple times out that way.

My 2 cents

i talked to a gal i work with and she said there is probably room in front of her house(at the bottom of 75) for a rig or two. Rick i was thinking of the same spot as you, there is also some area on the right side of 410, directly across from 70 for a couple of rigs.

also keep in mind that we are expecting snow in the lowlands around wednesday and the news is saying 40 inches of new snow in the hills. now that sounds like a good time for wheeling but not a whole lot of fun for trailering:D

I'm going to have to bail out. Too much going on at work, not enough time to get the Ex-250 running and replace the front wheel bearings on the superduty.
hopefully next time.
someone better build a snowman for me and run it over!

Worked on the exploder all day, should be ready for next weekend. Messed around with the cb today, seems to work fine... not sure why I have had so much trouble with it these last few trips? I am going to put a new antana wire on it and see if that helps, the old one has a few bad spots...

I didn't 'pre-run' this last weekend to locate a place for trailers, sorry guys for being useless and worthless in planning that.

It seems, as of last count, Ben and Kevin are the only ones left trailering??

Forest, can they both fit in front of your co-workers house? If not I was thinking of the 70rd as noted by Rick.

Andy might try to make it, if he dose he will have the 30' trailer. Chris's tow rig is having problems so we will see about him... Not very excited about towing the trailer in the snow so I threw some mirrors on and aired up the tires so I can unload and drive from town if I need to.

So I just realized that my tabs are expired, looks like I will be trailering also tommorow:fire: not what I wanted to do but oh well, guess I will have to since I missed the last trip:D

I'll be there - - got an extra Omaha steak (small, tho) for ya, too...

I just finished makin up a couple mountain burger patties. They'll be marinating in Worcestershire sauce all night. Pulled the grill out of the shed and set it next to the cooler.

You snowball fight opponent is comin this time ;)
