2011 Red Candy Limited

Thanks 1tufgt....here is a larger photo with more detail.....

Nice touch with the foliage in the background. I was thinking of creating the same kind of photo but its RAINING and my trees are starting to loose their flowers already. You should work for Ford marketing. For those of you around the country, there are pockets of Jersey that are very nice. We're not all the "Jersey Shore". Thanks for the pics.

Love the color!

I'd get out the hairdryer and peel off that dealership sticker though. Detracts from the look- unless they're paying you to advertise for them. :) Get the remaining sticky residue off with goo gone...

Yeah I wasnt bashing the product, just reminded me of that scene in Fargo. I suppose for the money its probably worth it, but I personally like to spend time with my paint on my vehicles. Proper application of good polish and synthetic wax will make your paint feel butter smooth like that as well, and it gives you an excuse to spend an afternoon in the garage with your beauty while the wife wrangles the kids. ;)

I negotiated the cost of the dual pin stripes to $105 & $289 for the chrome moldings & edge guards (including installation)...I also had the dealer apply armor coat to the paint and interior...it caries a 5 year warranty against paint stains, acid rain and oxidation...this was $349. The paint finish is like glass...and it is also on the windows...so in the rain water just sheets off...it is a teflon coating

How did you find this chrome package/ door edge guards??? And the armor coat. Are these dealer specific?

I just put this on one of my cars to test out its durability. Ive got to say, i watched the car for about 20 minutes in the rain today here in NJ and was amazed, AMAZED at the sheeting of water off the car, glass, etc.... I'm blown away that this $30. spray worked that well. http://nanodiamondshield.com/

If you want to go high end tech with nano polymer coatings then check out, ProCar CQuartz. Its a ceramic nano polymer that you apply to your cars finish. once its on, it protects for up to two years before you need to re-apply it. I have this on one of my motorcycles and dust and dirt rinses off with a garden hose, I haven't washed it with soap and a sponge in over a year. PM me if you have any questions. Ill document it when the Ex and Edge get it applied.

Alfredfife...my dealer has a large accessory dept and they can order for any factory color. The interior/exterior protection is called "The Protector" and it comes with a 5 year warranty. In an earlier post I gave the web site.

Maybe the best color ive seen yet. Next you need black rims and black out that grille. It would be sweet. But looks good as is man.

Nice looking Explorer! I, also, have the Red Candy/Stone combo with a Limited. Unfortunately, I don't have it yet as its on order. VIN, but no build date yet.

Love the color (drool)

The third rows dont fold flat anymore? (yuck)

With the cargo cover in place you can still fold the seats to get a flat floor. I prefer using the deep well for storage/groceries. Now with the Husky liners I don't mind hauling fertilizer or pool chlorine, etc....easy to clean up!

third rows will fold down like he has pictured, or fold flat into the cargo well..each side seperately, or both togetther.

I saw a picture of another option as well, called tailgateing, where the seats flip and you sit on the back..wonder if its on the lincoln version?

:)

Forgot I took this picture on 3/10/11 when my dealer called that my Ex was delivered. I left work early to see it since I had ordered it on 9/7/10....You can see how much the pin stripes and the painted/chrome body side moldings add to the car's overall appearance. Also this was the paint finish before the dealer added "The Protector" package.

The tailgateing feature only works for the manual flip and fold 3rd row seats on the 2011 Explorer. I have the power 3rd row and tailgateing is not available...but it is on the Lincoln MKT which has power 3rd rows and is roughly based on the same platform as the Explorer. Not sure why Ford made this change on the Explorer because it seems like a cool feature.

I don't think the manual ones have this feature either. It was stated on their Facebook page that due to the new head restraint requirements for 3rd row seats that it made the tailgate seat option very uncomfortable.

The pre-production / development models just had the switch panel from a flex so that's where some pictures could be seen with that option.

nice x u got there

I also bought the factory cargo shade and it is very unique and covers the cargo area very well....it is not the typical "roll up shade"!
